Polymicro Technologies Introduces New LTSP Line of Light Guiding
Capillary Tubing
New Product to be Introduced at PittCon 2002
Phoenix, AZ - February 12, 2002 - Polymicro Technologies, LLC, the
world-leader manufacture and supplier in synthetic fused silica
capillary tubing is pleased to introduce the new LTSP line of Light
Guiding Capillary Tubing. In its continuing efforts to provide new
innovations, Polymicro Technologies will offer several popular sizes
in the initial product introduction.
The tubing design consists of standard high-OH silica capillary tubing
over-clad with a layer of fluorine doped synthetic fused silica. The
tube interior is not modified from the pure fused silica surface found
in the company's standard capillaries. The fluorine doped
over-cladding provides fiber optic light transmission properties
similar to those found in a step index multimode optical fiber. A
durable polyimide coating yields products with dimensional
specifications and strength essentially identical to the corresponding
standard capillary products.
Light guiding capillary offers exciting possibilities in a variety of
tubing applications, including:
UV transmission inside of capillary allows for coaxial light-activated
chemistries, curing of UV adhesives, & detection of light producing
reactions i.e. fluorescence. Chromatographic columns with new frit
technologies for improved durability.
