Technologies and InnovaQuartz Resolve Inner-Lok™
Patent Dispute
Phoenix, Arizona, USA, Dec 2, 2003– Polymicro Technologies, L.L.C.
announced today that the patent lawsuit with Innovaquartz, Inc.
involving the production of Polymicro’s Inner-Lok™
connectors has been resolved and all claims have been dismissed. In
the lawsuit, Innovaquartz alleged that Polymicro was infringing U.S
Patent No. 5,512,078, which Polymicro denied. Polymicro will continue
to manufacture and provide to its customers the same high quality
Inner-Loks made by the same proven method without restriction or
royalty.
The Inner-Lok™
is Polymicro’s trade name for a press fit connector, or splice, used
for coupling of the silica capillary tubing used in gas
chromatography. Polymicro, the world’s leading supplier of such
capillary tubing, supplies the Inner-Loks manufactured by its own
proprietary process. According to Joe Macomber, Separations Science
Manager at Polymicro, “The technology for producing Inner-Loks
originated at Polymicro, and we have further developed our technical
capability in this area. From the inception of this lawsuit we were
confident of our position and we will continue to manufacture Inner-Loks.
Polymicro provides a quality product that has been readily accepted in
the marketplace”. Polymicro plans to further expand its product line
of capillary tubing coupling products in 2004.
